Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • One (1) or more years of customer service experience in an office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ability to follow verbal and written instruction. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Basic math and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to effectively use computer software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
  • Ability to provide friendly customer service.
  • Previous experience operating multiple phone lines.

Available Schedules: 

  • Hours will vary based on operational needs and individual availability.
    • Rogue X hours of operation: 6:00 AM - 8:30 PM, 7-days a week
    • Santo Center hours of operation: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Compensation & Information on Benefits:

The anticipated hiring range for the Administrative Support Assistant position is $15.05 (first step) to $15.80 or $16.59 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Examples of Job Duties:
Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Responds to requests for information from the general public, internal departments, and employees, including calls, correspondences, department surveys, distributes mail and other clerical tasks. 
  • Assists customers with program registrations and facility reservations.
  • Takes payments and processes refunds in accordance with the department’s policies.
  • Assists the customer service supervisor with various seasonal projects, events, and/or tasks. 
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Effective and efficient use of office equipment, computers, and related software.
