As a Summer Day Camp Counselor, you’ll help build friendships, encourage personal growth, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for children. Whether you’re leading outdoor adventures, organizing creative projects, or simply making kids smile, every day will bring something new and exciting.
Required Education and Experience:
- Must be 15 years or older at time of hire.
- Graduation from High School or GED equivalent; or currently enrolled in school and on track for graduation.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, and/or supplies required for the assigned activity - up to 50 pounds.
- Must attend mandatory Staff training June 3 from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM at the Santo Community Center.
Camp runs from June 9 – August 22, 2025. We are hiring for multiple shifts:
- Monday – Friday, 7:15 AM – 12:45 PM
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Monday – Friday, 11:45 AM – 5:30 PM
The anticipated hiring range for the Camp Counselor / Recreation Leader I position is $14.70 (first step) to $15.44 or $16.21 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
