In this role, you'll manage payroll processing, reconcile benefit accounts, handle complex deductions, and serve as a go-to resource for payroll-related questions across departments.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative, payroll accounting and analysis experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or other specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Available Schedule: 
  • 8 hours daily, Monday - Friday

**Scheduled salary increases and a 2.5% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) are anticipated effective July 1, 2025**
The anticipated hiring range for the Payroll Coordinator position is $34.29 (first step) to $36.01 or $37.81 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
