Public Works Technician (Surface Maintenance)

We are seeking experienced professionals with a strong background in concrete work and paving. Ideal candidates will have expertise in patching, overlay paving, and crack sealing. Additionally, applicants should be skilled in operating rollers, skid steers, screed, and pavers, with a solid understanding of paving practices and principles. Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
- Two (2) years of equipment operation, general construction, maintenance experience, or combination to successfully perform the duties of the job.
- Completion of a one (1) year Construction Technology certificate program may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- Possession of a Class A Oregon Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain CDL and tanker endorsement within one (1) year of hire date. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
- Maintaining a CDL is a condition of employment.
- Ability to maintain acceptable driving record throughout employment.
- Must establish a residence no more than a 60-minute normal response time to the City's Service Center located at 821 N. Columbus Ave.
Available Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (four 10-hour days with three days off each week)
