The Chamber Celebrates Business Excellence at 106th Annual Awards Dinner
A Night of Celebration, Resilience, and Recognition
The Chamber of Medford & Jackson County proudly hosted its 106th Annual Excellence in Business Awards on Thursday, September 11 at RogueX, drawing over 550 business and civic leaders together to honor outstanding achievements in leadership, innovation, and community impact across Southern Oregon.
This year’s event, presented by Title Sponsor Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, was a powerful blend of celebration, remembrance, and recognition — honoring both business excellence and the spirit of resilience in our region.
A Stirring Opening Tribute
The evening began with a powerful tribute video honoring first responders — not only in remembrance of the tragic events of 9/11, but also in recognition of the five-year anniversary of the Almeda and Obenchain Fires, which devastated Southern Oregon in 2020. The video paid tribute to the brave local heroes who stepped up in the face of crisis to protect lives and livelihoods.
Following the video, guests were treated to a moving performance of "America the Beautiful" by the Rogue Valley Reportorial Singers. Their harmonies filled the room with emotion and pride, drawing a standing ovation and beautifully setting the tone for the rest of the evening. It was a moment of unity, gratitude, and deep appreciation for those who serve our communities.
“September 11 is always a somber date in our nation’s history, but it’s also a moment to honor those who show up in the face of crisis,” said Eli Matthews, Chamber CEO. “This year, we wanted to acknowledge both our national and local heroes — and that opening sequence created a moment none of us will forget.”

Dream Big Membership Fund Nears Matching Goal
The Chamber also spotlighted the Dream Big Membership Fund, an initiative that helps small businesses gain access to Chamber resources by covering the cost of their first year of membership. So far, the program has raised $22,800, thanks to the generosity of local donors.
With a $25,000 matching sponsor already committed, the Chamber is calling on the community to help bridge the final gap and unlock the full match. Every additional dollar contributed will be doubled, expanding the reach and impact of this initiative across Southern Oregon.
“We are so close to our goal,” said Matthews. “With the match in place, this is a unique opportunity to invest in small businesses and create lasting economic impact in our region.”

A Night of Purpose and Pride
From elegant décor to heartfelt tributes, the evening celebrated the values that make Southern Oregon strong: collaboration, resilience, and innovation. Attendees connected over dinner, celebrated their peers, and reflected on the meaningful impact of this year’s award recipients.
“This event is more than a ceremony — it’s a reflection of who we are as a region,” said Matthews. “We honor those who don’t just succeed in business, but uplift others along the way.”
