In this role, you will work throughout the Medford park system performing hands-on tasks that support the appearance and upkeep of public spaces. This is a great opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, enjoys working independently as well as with a team, and values meaningful work that contributes directly to the community.

Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
- Must be 18 years of age or older by date of hire.
- Working knowledge of basic building operation, repairs, equipment used and cleaning buildings.
- Basic knowledge of the practices and techniques of landscape maintenance, tree care, and basic landscape construction techniques.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for this line of work.
- Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities.
- Possession of valid driver's license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver's license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
- Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
- Successful completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.
Available Schedule:
- Friday - Monday, 6:00 AM - 12:30 PM
The anticipated hiring range for the Parks Laborer position is $18.36 (first step) to $19.28 or $20.24 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
