Do you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and taking pride in a job where you can see the results of your work every day? The City of Medford is looking for a part-time Parks Laborer to help care for Lithia & Driveway Fields and keep the facility clean, safe, and ready for community use.

In this hands-on role, you’ll perform a variety of grounds and facility maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, blowing, string trimming, collecting trash and refuse, pressure washing, assisting with event setup and breakdown and other general maintenance needs.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Must be 18 years of age or older by date of hire.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of basic building operation, repairs, equipment used and cleaning buildings.
  • Basic knowledge of the practices and techniques of landscape maintenance, tree care, and basic landscape construction techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for this line of work.
  • Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities. 
  • Possession of valid driver's license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver's license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.


Available Schedules:

  • Thursday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Compensation & Information on Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for the Parks Laborer position is $18.36 (first step) to $19.28 or $20.24 (second or third step).
