Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; and
- Minimum of two seasons of lifeguarding experience in a formal recreation setting. A season is defined as at least 12 weeks of experience.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible aquatics program and/or lifeguard experience, including lead worker, training, mentoring, or supervisory responsibilities.
- A bachelor’s degree in recreation management, leisure services, education, business management, or other specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for one (1) year of aquatics program experience, but may not substitute for required leadership, or supervisory experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
* Swim lesson instruction experience
* Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification
* Aquatic Facility Operator/Certified Pool Operator (AFO/CPO)
Available Schedule:
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, generally Monday - Friday, with rotating weekend shifts as scheduled.
